Working With Organisations

Supporting working parents who have children with mental health difficulties.

The Ripple Effect

Children experiencing mental health difficulties doesn't sound like a workplace issue.

Except that it very much is.

50% of working parents who are concerned about children’s mental health say this impacts on their work performance*.

20.2%

Ten years ago, this figure was 4.7%. This is a complex picture, with many factors including Covid, the cost of living crisis, chronic funding challenges, rising SEND needs, bullying, mental health difficulties and many more contributing. The trend is only going one way and whatever interventions are being made, they have, so far, been unable to stem the tide.

There is a clear ripple effect into the workplace, which has a significant cost to organisations and parents alike. 1 in 100 parents who left their jobs said their decision was entirely due to the mental health of a child.

This is an increase from 1 in 9 in 2017. Mental health difficulties and persistent absence from school are clearly correlated. Children with a mental health problem were seven times more likely to have missed 15 days of school in the autumn term 2022, compared to those without a mental health problem (NHS Digital, 2023).

Our signature programme.

This programme is not a mental health programme for young people. Participating in it will not make your young person's mental health difficulties go away. It is designed to support you with how you parent your young person during these challenging times, so that your parenting is not part of the problem.
